BACKGROUND

It may seem a little bit odd that our kennel´s got the name Polarskägget (Polarbeard). We do understand that, but there is an explanation.

The year 1981 a riesenschnauzerbitch, Millan, was bought. She became the start of all dog-interest. There was shows, working  competitions and mental descriptions. Later on there was our first litter.



After Millan followed other schnauzers, instructor education and the beginning of a small schnauzer breeding. 1987 we took the kennelname Polarskägget (Polarbeard).
There was born some miniatyreschnauzer-litters, and the interest of breeding was awakened.



Among other remindful things we had the honour to sell a lovely bitch puppy, Polarskäggets Peppriga Peppie, to Maria Lindgren in Byske. That bitch became very successful, and became the start of Marias successful breeding of miniatyreschnauzer, under the prefix Myltans kennel (see links).

Our thoughts was to continue with schnauzers, which are lovely dogs. And, as you probably know, all schnauzers has got that lovely typical beard, and there`s the explanation to our kennelname.

But, -96 there was an accident and nothing after that was the same. All kinds of trim was excluded. It also became too much with big working dogs, like riesen.

The thought of changing breed started. But, what breed?



After lots of discussions it so became to be Bostonterrier. A choice that we, my husband Nisse and I, are very happy that we did. So 2004 we bought our first boston.
